I don’t know why I’m taking such perverse pleasure in this. Cheryl Cole has been offered the role of Simon’s little helper on American X Factor. How can this be true? It can’t be so, she’s gonna be a judge sitting in the middle seat like J Lo showing off her legs and crying, isn’t she?

Didn’t the News of the World tell us she’d just signed a £10million contract ? (Don’t look at me sweethearts I’ve never spent a Rupert pound in my life.) Wots this? The Mail said something about it too?

Didn’t they all darling, how those pink pooed pantie-etters in Fleet street raced a girls gallop to Cowell’s jockey shorts and back to write for us the very last word in show biz groove. How they preened and sputtered in their made it up finery, and everyone knew of course, from the top of Heat towers to the dark corners of Wapping willies listening room, they all knew, that Cheryl ‘DEFO HAD THAT JUDGES SEAT.’

Everyone except me. Nobody told me anything.

Guess what? She hasn’t got the job. Why… because Fox bosses can’t understand a word she says, they’ve confused her with the tea lady and have stubbornly refused to accept Syco’s protests that nobodies perfect.

In fairness to Fox they said from the very start a nobody isn’t perfect and they wanted a somebody…. a somebody who speaks American.

So Syco has used Cowelery to get Cheryl Cole a job, any job. And the job is – helper !

Like Sinitta, Simon’s little helper.

The only bucks Cheryl Cole can the make from stars in America is probably a Starbucks – to go.

Held at The O2 Arena, the "X-Factor" darling looked rocker chic in a fitted black dress with plunging back to expose her multiple tattoos as she mingled with fellow attendees including a kiss on the cheek with Peter Andre.

Despite being undeniably gorgeous, Miss Cheryl Cole isn't one to brag about her well-endowed features.
Asked by Cosmo if she thinks she's pretty, Cheryl replied, "No. I don't think anybody thinks that of themselves. It's odd. I often wonder how I look to other people."

Cheryl Cole just split from her husband this year in February so the wound is still fresh. After a separation, the two finally divorced in September, but it sounds like there is still some good will left between the couple because Ashley Cole didn’t leave Cheryl off his Christmas card card list.
He was said to have sent her a card “wishing her all the best for 2011.”

“Cheryl felt quite choked up at being sent the card. After all that has happened between them she thought it was a nice gesture.

“It has been a difficult year and as anyone who has been in love knows, the holidays can bring a lot of nostalgia.”

What a bittersweet moment. Ashley allegedly cheated on Cheryl with several different woman so I can imagine that the divorce was very painful for her, but maybe this card will help with the healing process.

The former Girls Aloud singer was joined by Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts as she left Fountain Studios following the “X Factor” results show.

Earlier in the day, Cheryl treated viewers to a high-energy performance of her new single “Promise This” on the “X Factor.”

As for her recent divorce from soccer star Ashley Cole, Cheryl has finally decided to break her silence and will appear with Piers Morgan on “Life Stories” this weekend.

She explained, "No, it wasn’t really cathartic. It felt a bit wrong. I was talking about stuff I wouldn’t talk about to my closest friends. I felt I had to though; it was getting so ridiculous with rumors. People were getting ideas I’m someone I’m not, I needed to get my voice back. It was almost like it was a soap opera and it’s my real life."

"When it’s all out there on Saturday I can move forward. I would have been nervous to come on here before because people want to know personal things and it’s not about that, I have great things going on, I’ve recorded an album. Carrying her red Prada bag to match her newly reddened coif, the British beauty was fresh off of judge duties for a heroes-themed episode of "X-Factor"

Meanwhile, Miss Cole recently opened up for the first time with Piers Morgan's Life Stories about her summertime bout with malaria.

She said, "I woke up in the morning and I was putting my moisturizer on and my skin hurt. My lips were blue. I thought, 'You're getting the flu'. Not for one second did malaria cross my mind."

Continuing on, Cheryl revealed, "I said just let me lie down for an hour, I'll be OK. And that was it. I was out. I was just so weak and sick. I was exhausted."

Being rushed to the hospital upon diagnosis, Cole finished by saying, "I remember feeling like I was dying. I was actually thinking if it's going to happen, please just hurry up. I wasn't scared. I was exhausted."(Hollywood Gossip)

The pop star's latest is said to be named Promise This because of its lyrics, which relate to her malaria scare. According to reports, the stunner will perform the new single on X Factor in October and will be filming the video in LA any day now.

A source has said: "Cheryl's comeback single is called Promise This.

"It was actually written months ago and although it's not directly talking about her illness there is a strange lyrical twist that ironically relates to her recent near-death experience."

Cheryl Cole Comes Down with Malaria

Even unparalleled beauty is no match for malaria.

Soon after a trip to Tanzania last week with boyfriend Derek Hough, Cheryl Cole came down with a case of this dangerous disease. Friends told The Daily Mail that The X Factor judge was rushed to the hospital after a bout of "sweating and shaking" at home.

Cole will remain in the hospital for a few days and will need many weeks to recover from the ailment. Said a source:

"Cheryl hadn't been feeling herself for about a week. She was feeling tired and listless... During Sunday afternoon, Cheryl went downhill quickly. She was sweating and shaking and in a bad way."

A spokesman says a mosquito likely bit his client and added: "Following doctors' advice, Cheryl Cole will be canceling all work commitments for the next week."
